The story of the creation of Crystal Fighters is very unique. The name comes from one of the band member's grandfather, who was suffering from insanity. He wrote an opera during the last months of his life, never finishing the piece. The group now writes music in homage to the Basque culture (an autonomous country within Spain) and strives to finish the opera, finding inspiration from the prophetic contents of the scrawling of a man suffering bouts of insanity.
